Q: Several clubs are participating in a project – how do we enter it?
A: Please enter your club’s part of the impact separately. Each participating club submits their own contribution independently.

Q: We are unsure which category fits our project best – what do we do?
A: Have a look at the available project types and pick the closest match. If you are still unsure, please contact us and we will help you find the right fit. Use the button below.

Q: Our project type is not in the list – what do we do?
A: Please contact us and describe your project. We will check whether it can be added or whether an existing category fits. Please use the button below.

Q: Our project happened in the past – can we still enter it?
A: Yes! You can enter historical projects. Please use the actual project date, not today’s date. We count the impact from 2017 onwards, and many older projects still have impact in 2017.

Q: Why do I have to enter a start date and a project duration?
A: There are some topics where this is necessary: If someone ate vegan food only for 2 years it makes sense to enter the start date and the duration, so the carbon effect is allocated correctly. If the person continues to eat vegan food only it is possible to extend the duration by one year when revisiting the data one year later.

Q: Why do I have to enter “months per year” in some cases?
A: Many people participate in challenges concerning plant rich diet. So they e.g. eat vegan for 3 months per year.

Q: We already entered our project in IroTree, Rotary Showcase, or the Million Solar Panel Initiative – do we need to enter it here too?
A: No, please do not enter it again. We are working on an automatic data transfer from these sources. Simply let us know that you would like your data transferred. Please use the button below.

Q: How is the carbon impact calculated?
A: Most calculations are based on the work of Prof. Mike Berners-Lee, University of Lancaster, UK. Please note that we work with assumptions and average values – an exact figure is not always possible.

Q: Are submitted projects verified?
A: Projects are not individually audited, but we do some validation checks, especially for larger projects or if many projects are entered. Please enter your data as accurately as possible.

Q: What happens after I submit?
A: Your project immediately appears in the database and you can see it in “Show counted handprints“. Your handprint also immediately contributes to the counter of your District and Rotary globally.

Q: Is our data publicly visible?
A: Yes, submitted projects are visible to other Rotarians. No personal contact details are displayed publicly.

Q: I made a mistake in my submission – can I correct it?
A: You can change all data that is connected with your personal Email address. Please use the button “MY PERSONAL ACTIONS” on the page “Show counted handprints“. You can change the data that is displayed.

Q: Can I get a certificate for me or for my club?
A: Yes, on the page “Get handprint certificate” you can see and download the certificates for you and your club.

Q: Can we get a handprint counter for our district?
A: Yes, on the page “Bring the counter to your district” you can look at the counter of your district and below that is the description how you can embed the counter on the website of your club or your district.
